The Best Parks in the Sutherland Shire

Looking for a great park to visit with the kids? We’ve listed the best spots below.

Pack some snacks, water and hats in a bag and get exploring these fun parks!

 

#1 – Como Pleasure Grounds

2A Cremona Rd, Como.

Kids of all ages will find something to do at this great park. A great track for bikes and scooters, climbing net, swings and more!

 

#2 – Bonna Point Reserve

310-312 Prince Charles Parade, Kurnell.

There’s plenty of open space in this park, as well as separate play areas for small and older kids. Cubbys, slides, swings, and the ever popular flying fox!

 

#3 – Burnum Burnum Sanctuary

Washington Dr, Woronora.

This park has a lot of great play equipment including a flying fox, climbing net, twisted slides, in-ground trampolines, balance beams, puzzle wall, carousel and more!

 

#4 – Camellia Gardens

Corner Kareena Road and President Avenue, Caringbah.

A walk through the beautiful gardens will lead you to a Alice in Wonderland themed playground, perfect for smaller children. It is fenced with a toilet block and baby change facilities. 

 

#5 – Salmon Haul Reserve 

58 Glaisher Parade, Cronulla.

This park is more hidden away than others nearby so it’s often quiet.  There is boat themed play equipment, slides, rope ladders, balance beams and more. 

 

#6 – Biddy Giles Playground

4 Kiln Rd, Kirrawee.

Located in the grounds of South Village, this park features a half basketball court, flying fox, swings, climbing equipment and more. There’s also a large grass area with a path surrounding it, perfect for bikes and scooters. 

 

#7 – Lantana Reserve

47 Lantana Rd, Engadine.

A large park with different play areas. There’s a flying fox, climbing net, swings, a seesaw and more.

 

#8 – Old School Park

250 Gymea Bay Rd, Gymea Bay.

Another great park for all ages. There’s great play equipment like climbing walls, climbing nets, slides and swings as well as a large grass area for ball games. You can even head through the bush on a track which leads down to Gymea Bay Baths. 

 

#9 – Parc Menai

158/168 Menai Rd, Menai.

A great park conveniently located near Menai Marketplace (where you can grab a quick coffee or lunch). The park has rock climbing, rope climbing, swings, slides and more. For older kids the skate park is next door.

 

#10 – Woronora Rd Reserve

97 Woronora Rd, Engadine. 

This park has also been upgraded recently, with climbing walls, climbing net, balance poles, play shop window, play police station and more. 

 

#11 – Mansion Point Reserve

25-27 Kingfisher Cres, Grays Point.

This park features a mix of equipment suitable for different age groups. The older kids will like the climbing nets and frames where as the younger kids will like playing in the police, hospital and fire station frames.

#12 – Berrima St Reserve

5-7 Berrima St, Heathcote.

Younger kids will love this quiet park, with a climbing wall, slide, seesaw, sliding pole, balance wheel, shop window and more.
