How do I book a Council clean up?

Plan ahead if you wish to book a council cleanup – at least EIGHT weeks in advance. In peak times the waiting period could take even longer, so it’s best to plan ahead.

How many Council clean ups can I book per year?

In most regions of the Shire, eligible properties may be entitled to two pre-booked council cleans per financial year.

Cleanups must be pre-booked by a resident who is eligible or a strata manager (for large complexes).

When Can I place rubbish outside?

Please be advised that items for collection can only be placed outside on THE DAY BEFORE your collection date.

It may be considered illegal dumping if you place your items out early. Carefully consider this when choosing and booking your council clean up date. 

Can I discard e-waste in the council cleanup?

Electronic waste is not eligible for the pre-booked clean up service.

Electronic waste can now be recycled at the council’s E-waste collection events twice yearly. For more information, please visit here.

How to book you council cleanup

Please first estimate the following as accurately as possible before making your booking:

Household waste – please estimate the number of cubic metres of household waste you have. The limit is three cubic metres.

Green waste – green waste must be no longer than 1.5m long, tied & bundled, and not thicker than a household broomstick. Green waste may be not collected if it is not not tied and bundled.

Beds – limited to two pieces eg, two seperate mattresses, or one mattress & one bed base (please be aware collection could take up to five days).

Metal/white goods – eg, BBQ’s and grills, laundry appliances, swing/play sets etc. All metal items that are longer than 1.5 metres will need to be de-constructed (eg trampolines and swings).
